About Me

My name is Mariana Spitzberg and I am excited for my second year at Wims. I grew up in Argentina and came to the U.S. when I was 21. All my family still lives there and I am so lucky I get to visit them every other year! When I was in Argentina I was studying to become an ESOL teacher, but then I moved and my plans were put on hold. I had the chance to go back to school and become an elementary school teacher through the Towson University at Shady Grove Program. While still at school I got married and then had two boys. My husband, Dave is an instrumental music teacher in the county and loves junk percussion, Mateo is 7 and is starting second grade and Tomas is 6 and he is starting first. Being from Argentina, soccer is the sport I like the most, my favorite team is River Plate, but I also cheer for the local team: Go D.C. United!!
