About Me!

My name is Jessica Hawkins, and I am so excited to be joining second grade team this year!

 

I grew up in Montgomery County, and earned my degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury University.  I lived in San Diego, California for several years after college, then returned home to Maryland to pursue my passion of becoming an educator.  This will be my fifth year teaching. I began my journey here at Wilson Wims, first as a Reading Initiative teacher, then as a first grade classroom teacher.  I am thrilled to be moving into second grade this year, and I am so very grateful for the opportunity to loop with my incredible students!

 

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time outdoors.  Hiking, camping, and gardening are some of my favorite hobbies.  I also love going to see live music! I love spending time with my family, my friends, my husband Danny, and our two adorable dogs :)

 

I was blessed with an amazing group of students last year and wonderfully supportive parents and families, and I am so excited to have the privilege of continuing this journey with all of you.  Here’s to another amazing year together!
